Jacob Markström has just been traded to the New Jersey Devils from the Calgary Flames. This is a massive trade for New Jersey who have been trying to get Jacob Markström for a while now. Markström is a proven #1 goalie, which is exactly what the New Jersey Devils have been missing.
In this trade the Calgary Flames will be receiving defenceman Kevin Bahl and a top-10 protected 2025 1st round pick. Calgary will be retaining 31.25% of Markström's salary so his cap hit will be $4.125 million per season for the next 2 seasons. This is a very reasobale cap hit for a #1 goalie.
Hopefully Jacob Markström could help the New Jersey Devils to make the playoffs again. Markström will for sure make them a more complete team.
